The Ukrainian U-22 national team lost to Turkey at the start of the European Championship
The games of the final stage of the European Women's Volleyball Championship under the age of 22 started today in Italy. The national team of Ukraine, which plays in group 1, met with the team of Turkey. Unfortunately, this match is difficult for our team to add to the asset.
Tense first set
The beginning of the match promised to be interesting, because in the first set, the Ukrainian volleyball players showed real struggle. Ukraine's national team tried to impose the game on the opponents, but still conceded with a score of 21:25. Andrii Romanovych's wards showed character by reducing the deficit from 11:16 to 21:25.
Second set: terrible start
Unfortunately, the second set was a real test for the Ukrainian women. The beginning of the game was simply terrible - 0:8, 1:14. The Ukrainian women could not find their rhythm, conceding with the score 13:25. It was one of the most difficult moments for Andriy Romanovych's team.
Third set: even game until the middle
In the third game, the court was tied at 10:10. However, after that, the Ukrainian national team failed again - 10:17. The Turkish team took the initiative in their own hands and finished the set with a score of 18:25, which led to a total score of 0:3 in favor of Turkey.

Ukrainian volleyball players performed as follows: Kateryna Huseynova (scored 2 points), Daria Kaplanska (7), Khrystyna Starostenko (2), Polina Dzyuba (7), Maria Kaplanska (7), Ksenia Ratii (3), Kateryna Vasylieva (libero) - starting line-up. Anastasia Kucher (2), Kima Zharkova (4), Diana Holod (0), Yana Prokopova (libero) were substituted.
Other results of the group
A little later, Italy and Latvia will play in this group today. One match was held in group 2, where Serbian volleyball players defeated their peers from Poland with a score of 3:0 (26:24, 25:18, 29:27). Portugal and the Czech Republic will play in the second match of this group.

Tomorrow, Tuesday, July 2, the national team of Ukraine will meet the hosts of the tournament - volleyball players from Italy. We remind you that the two best teams from each group advance to the semifinals.
