Gaël Monfils, ranked 50th in the world, delivered a commanding performance against Roberto Carballés. The Frenchman won in straight sets, 6-3, 6-4, in just one hour and eighteen minutes. Monfils' strong first serve, which won him 87% of points, was crucial in securing his victory.

"I felt great on the court today. My serve was on point, and I enjoyed the energy from the crowd," said Monfils, who thrilled spectators with a spectacular dive during the match.

Shocking Exit for Defending Champion Eubanks

In a surprising turn of events, defending champion Christopher Eubanks was eliminated in the first round by Jakub Mensik. Eubanks, ranked 42nd, fell to the Czech player in three sets: 3-6, 6-3, 6-1, marking an unexpected early exit.

The second day of the tournament also saw victories for several other players. Adam Walton from Australia defeated Germany's Yannick Hanfmann 7-5, 6-2. British player Paul Jubb won against Maximilian Marterer of Germany with a score of 6-1, 6-2.
