Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall, the 25-year-old midfield dynamo, has officially joined Chelsea from Leicester City, bringing with him a wealth of experience and a burning ambition to secure silverware.
Dewsbury-Hall's Rise to Prominence
Under the astute guidance of head coach Enzo Maresca, Dewsbury-Hall was instrumental in Leicester City's immediate promotion back to the Premier League. His stellar performances earned him a spot in the 2023/24 Championship team of the season. Reflecting on his journey, Dewsbury-Hall stated:
"Last season was a positive year for me and I’m coming into this season feeling like a new player, full of confidence, full of motivation to get going and I don’t see a better fit than coming to Chelsea and testing myself against some top players and playing with top players."
A Versatile Midfield Asset
With 179 senior appearances, including 59 in the Premier League, and European experience with Leicester, Dewsbury-Hall is well-equipped to make an impact at Stamford Bridge. Describing his playing style, he said:
"I’m a box-to-box midfielder. I am somebody who likes to attack, drive at defenders and make things happen with goals and assists. I will also give 100 per cent for the team defensively and I am someone who overall can contribute in every aspect of the game."
Maresca's Influence and Tactical Mastery
Enzo Maresca, renowned for his distinctive style, transformed Leicester City's gameplay, leading them to the Championship title with an impressive 97 points. Dewsbury-Hall praised Maresca's approach:
"He completely changed the way Leicester wanted to play last season and we saw it worked. I personally fell in love with the way he wanted to play and I know a lot of the other lads did as well."
Ambitions at Chelsea
Dewsbury-Hall is determined to add more trophies to his collection with Chelsea. He expressed his goals for the season:
"My hopes for the season, first and foremost, is to win some silverware. That is an aim for this club and we are in plenty of competitions this season where we can try to do that."
The midfielder's confidence in Maresca's system and the talent within Chelsea's squad is palpable. He believes that with the right nurturing, the team can be a formidable force in the upcoming season.
