Stephen Curry might soon find himself with a new star teammate if recent trade rumors materialize. The Golden State Warriors superstar could see long-time teammate Draymond Green shipped to the "New York Knicks" in exchange for center Karl-Anthony Towns in a potential blockbuster deal.

"With the Warriors looking to maximize what's left of Curry's prime years, almost any move could be on the table," – as the situation clearly suggests.

The proposed trade package would send Green, Moses Moody, Buddy Hield, and a 2027 first-round pick to the Knicks for Towns, who averaged 24.4 points, 12.8 rebounds, and 3.1 assists last season.

Both teams have reasons to consider such a drastic move. The Warriors need offensive firepower and a floor-spacing big man, while the Knicks – fresh off firing coach Tom Thibodeau after their six-game playoff elimination by the "Indiana Pacers" – could use Green's defensive prowess and leadership.

The financial aspect can't be ignored here. For this deal to work, Golden State would need to move Green's hefty contract – the remaining two years of his $100 million deal. Not a small consideration.

Interestingly, there's documented history of friction between Green and Towns, with the two having publicly disagreed on multiple occasions. Would the Warriors really trade one of their franchise cornerstones for someone who's clashed with him?

The defensive implications also raise serious questions. Towns posted just a 0.1 defensive box plus-minus last season, hardly impressive. Meanwhile, Green remains the defensive anchor for the "Warriors" – his departure would leave a gaping hole on that end of the floor.

Despite the offensive upside Towns would bring to help lighten Curry's scoring burden, this trade seems more fantasy than reality. Sometimes the most interesting deals are the ones that never happen. Will Warriors management even entertain such an idea? The answer seems clear.
