Daniel Dubois has placed Alexander Usyk outside his top boxing elite in a recent poll, despite losing to the Ukrainian champion by knockout earlier this year. The British heavyweight controversially ranked Usyk in just the "Legend" category while elevating six other fighters to "GOAT" status.
"I have my own perspective on the heavyweight division's hierarchy," Dubois might explain about his surprising rankings.
In Dubois' opinion, Deontay Wilder, Anthony Joshua, George Foreman, Tyson Fury, Lennox Lewis, and Muhammad Ali all deserve the highest "GOAT" classification. Meanwhile, he grouped Usyk alongside himself and Joseph Parker in the secondary "Legend" tier, leaving his "Great" and "Good" categories completely empty.
Interestingly, this ranking comes after their July 19, 2025 rematch at London's "Wembley" Stadium, where Usyk dominated Dubois and secured a fifth-round knockout. That decisive victory made the Ukrainian a two-time undisputed heavyweight champion - quite an achievement for someone not in Dubois' top tier!
The British boxer offered no explanation for his controversial ranking system. Is this a case of wounded pride after his knockout loss? Or does Dubois genuinely believe these six fighters stand above the man who defeated him twice?
