"Prometheus" returns to the Super League
"We won the Higher League according to the sports principle, won the final "+60", - emphasizes Volodymyr Dubinsky, president of the Prometheus club.
In his interview, Volodymyr Dubinsky shared his plans for the future of the Prometheus basketball club. After two years of uncertainty, the question of the club's participation in the Super League has become urgent.
Trials and difficulties on the way
Dubinsky admitted that after winning the Premier League and reaching the finals with a 60-point advantage, the club faced financial problems.
"I don't want to say anything about the federation, they have their own perception and understanding. But from what I heard, of course, everyone is waiting for Prometheus in the Super League"
From basketball to football
The president of the club humorously recalled how a year ago he joked about the possibility of switching to football, but this joking statement became a reality. "Prometheus" unexpectedly found itself involved in football projects, which added new challenges.
Plans for the future
Despite the difficulties, Dubinsky is confident in the future of the basketball team:
"There is a team in basketball, and we believe that it will happen. I don't want to leave basketball. It is very difficult, there are many financial and other problems, several partners refused to finance the project last year"
Volleyball: on the verge of survival
The situation with volleyball looks less stable. Dubinsky noted that the club removed all legionnaires and cut costs.
"For now, I plan that volleyball will live, but at the end of June there will be a big gathering of all club presidents, we will express our fears and misunderstandings"
War and sport
The war in Ukraine makes adjustments to the club's sports plans. Despite this, Dubinsky remains an optimist and believes in the future of his teams.
"Basketball remains 100%, volleyball remains 99%. I hope we can get through it."
Results and forecasts
Summarizing, we can say that "Prometheus" continues to fight on several fronts - from basketball to football. The president of the club expresses hope for the support of partners and federations, which will allow the teams to maintain their positions and continue development.
