Joey Logano Calls for Urgent NASCAR Tire Changes

After a lackluster performance at Martinsville Speedway, Joey Logano, a two-time Cup champion, urged NASCAR on SiriusXM NASCAR Radio to make significant tire changes for better short track racing experiences. 'Do something and do it now,' Logano implored, voicing discontent with the tires' longevity which hinders competitive passing.

At the recent Martinsville race, tires didn't wear as expected, with Logano not changing his left side tires until Lap 185, an anomaly in racing that diminishes strategic pit stops and on-track competition. Logano's suggestions include grooving the tires or even testing new ones, stressing the need for different tires by the upcoming All-Star Race.

Denny Hamlin also weighed in on SiriusXM NASCAR Radio, proposing NASCAR test with Dale Earnhardt Jr. for better visibility and results. NASCAR, together with Goodyear, is seeking solutions to this pronounced tire wear issue, having already scheduled a tire test at Bristol in July.
