The FIVB Beach Volleyball World Championships are set to make a historic debut in the southern hemisphere, heading exclusively to Adelaide, Australia, in the spring of 2025. This marks the first time the prestigious event will be held in Oceania and Asia, promising an exciting 10 days of world-class beach volleyball action from November 14 to November 23, 2025.
A Milestone for Beach Volleyball
Following the Paris Olympic Games, where beach volleyball will take center stage under the Eiffel Tower, the next major event on the calendar is the World Championships. With over 90 men’s and women’s teams expected to compete, Adelaide 2025 is set to be a landmark event for the sport.
FIVB President Dr. Ary S. Graça F° expressed his enthusiasm:
“For the first time in the history of the FIVB Beach Volleyball World Championships, we are heading to Australia, Oceania and Asia! Beach volleyball is incredibly popular worldwide, and I am confident that the beautiful southern city of Adelaide will be a fantastic host for our prestigious tournament!”
Adelaide's Grand Stage
The northern riverbank of Adelaide will transform into a buzzing festival ground, with thousands of fans gathering across Pinky Flat, The Drive, and Torrens Parade Ground. The Drive Centre Court will be the focal point, hosting feature matches during both day and night sessions. The much-anticipated women’s and men’s medal matches will take place on Saturday, November 22, and Sunday, November 23, 2025.
Excitement Building
Jenny Mann, CEO of Adelaide 2025 Beach Volleyball World Championships, is optimistic about the preparations:
“In just over a month, the world’s best will be competing at the Paris Olympic Games, and then the next stop is Adelaide, South Australia. We are excited to welcome Olympians and over 190 of the world’s top players to Adelaide next year representing an anticipated 50 nations.”
A Global Celebration
The Championships are expected to attract sports fans from across South Australia, the nation, and the globe. Adelaide’s spring weather will provide a perfect backdrop for this grand celebration of beach volleyball. The event aims to bring together Australia’s multicultural community to support the competing nations, including Brazil, China, Italy, India, and Spain.
The event is supported by the South Australian Tourism Commission as the Official Destination Partner, ensuring a memorable experience for all attendees.
