The Ukrainian House of Football hosted the official playoff draw determining which clubs will earn the right to compete in the Premier League for the upcoming 2025/26 season.
According to the tournament regulations, the 13th and 14th-placed teams from the Premier League will face off against the 4th and 3rd-placed teams from the First League respectively in a two-legged playoff format.
The first matches are scheduled for Thursday, May 29, with the First League's 4th-placed team hosting the Premier League's 13th-placed club, while the UPL's 14th-placed team will welcome the First League's 3rd-placed side at home.
Return fixtures will follow quickly on Sunday, June 1, completing the promotion/relegation battles that will finalize next season's top-flight lineup.
Based on current standings, Vorskla occupies the 13th position in the Premier League and would face Metallist-1925, who currently sits 4th in the First League. Meanwhile, Livyi Bereh, positioned 14th in the UPL, would battle against Kudrivka, currently 3rd in the second tier.
Statbet data shows that historically, top-flight teams maintain about a 65% success rate in Ukrainian promotion/relegation playoffs, giving Vorskla and Livyi Bereh a statistical advantage despite their challenging league positions this season.
The results of these crucial playoff matches will determine the final composition of the Ukrainian Premier League for the 2025/26 campaign, with everything to play for across these decisive 180 minutes of football.
