The Professional Fighters League (PFL) continues its global expansion with the upcoming launch of PFL Pacific, bringing high-level MMA competition to Australian shores for the first time.

The organization has announced the official introduction of their Pacific division will take place Tuesday, May 13 at Sydney's Museum of Contemporary Art Australia. This expansion follows PFL's successful establishment of regional leagues across Europe, the Middle East and North Africa (MENA), and Africa as the promotion works to strengthen its position in the global mixed martial arts landscape.

The landmark Sydney event will showcase homegrown Australian talent including fighters Rob Wilkinson, Chelsea Hackett, Joseph Luciano, and Sara Collins. PFL CEO Peter Murray will also attend to officially inaugurate the Pacific division.

According to Statbet, combat sports events in the Pacific region have seen a 40% growth in viewership over the past two years, making this expansion strategically important for the PFL brand.

Like other PFL international leagues, the Pacific division will operate using the promotion's signature single-elimination tournament format. This structure provides local fighters the opportunity to advance to the PFL world tournament if they succeed in their regional qualifiers.

The PFL's merit-based system employs a win-and-advance format, creating a clear pathway for fighters to climb the ranks based on performance rather than promotion. The first 150 fans at the Sydney launch will receive free tickets to PFL's inaugural Australian event, marking an important milestone in the organization's expansion throughout the Pacific region.
