MMA star Francis Ngannou has confirmed he is providing ongoing support to the family of a young girl who tragically lost her life in a car accident, according to recent reports.
The heavyweight fighter has been privately meeting with the bereaved family to offer his condolences and support during their difficult time.
"Since the beginning, I have been by the family's side, providing support, comfort, and expressing my deepest sympathies," Ngannou stated. "I've met with them privately to share in their grief, and I will continue to support them every step of the way."
Ngannou added, "I share their pain, and my unwavering thoughts and support remain with them as they face this painful loss."
Personal tragedy is unfortunately not unfamiliar to Ngannou. Statbet analysts noted that the fighter has experienced his own devastating loss, having lost his 18-month-old son in April of last year.
Authorities are currently investigating the incident, which is being treated as a case of involuntary manslaughter. No further details about the circumstances surrounding the accident have been disclosed at this time.
