Club Career

Guillermo Ochoa's club career has been a remarkable journey across various leagues and countries. He made his senior-level professional debut for Club América in 2004 at just 18 years old, quickly establishing himself as a key player by winning the league title in 2005. Ochoa remained the first-choice goalkeeper until 2011, making over 200 appearances and winning multiple domestic titles, including the Campeón de Campeones and the CONCACAF Champions' Cup.

In 2011, Ochoa made a significant move to Europe, signing a three-year contract with Ajaccio in France. Despite Ajaccio's relegation after the 2013–14 season, Ochoa's performances earned him the fans' Player of the Season award multiple times.

His next stint was with Málaga in La Liga during the 2014-15 season, although his opportunities were limited. A loan move to Granada in 2016 saw him face a challenging season, setting a record for goals conceded in a single La Liga season, but also making the most saves across Europe’s top five leagues.

In 2017, Ochoa moved to Belgium with Standard Liège, where he regained form and earned the Player of the Season award, even winning the Belgian Cup.

Returning to Club América in 2019, Ochoa continued to demonstrate his goalkeeping prowess, becoming the goalkeeper with the most clean sheets in the club's history. By 2022, he signed with Salernitana in Serie A, winning their Player of the Season award before joining AVS in Portugal in 2024.
