TFF 2. Lig (Nesine 2. Lig) is the third tier of Turkish football, established in 2001-02. The competition features 36 teams divided into two groups (Red and White), playing in a home-and-away format. Each group winner gains direct promotion to TFF 1. Lig, while teams finishing 2nd through 6th enter promotion play-offs to determine a third promoted team. The bottom three teams from each group are relegated to TFF 3. Lig. For the 2023-24 season, Esenler Erokspor (White Group) and Amed (Red Group) were crowned champions. The league has undergone several name changes throughout its history and serves as an important stepping stone for clubs aiming to reach higher levels of Turkish professional football.
