The World Boxing Council (WBC) continues to actively work on changes in the rules of the rematch between Oleksandr Usyk and Tyson Fury, which is scheduled for December 21. President of the WBC Mauricio Suleiman in an interview with the talkSport portal talked about the organization's new initiatives aimed at increasing the objectivity of refereeing and avoiding controversial moments in the fight.

Six judges instead of three

One of the main proposals of the WBC is to increase the number of judges who will count the points during the fight, from three to six. This decision is intended to reduce the possibility of errors and provide a more accurate assessment of the actions of both boxers. This approach has already caused active discussions among boxing experts and fans.

Video replays to avoid mistakes

Another important initiative is the implementation of a video replay system, which will allow the referee to review controversial moments and make more informed decisions. Mauricio Suleiman noted that such a system was already implemented by the WBC in 2008, but there is currently a problem with its use in Great Britain.

"We have a difficult situation with the British Boxing Commission of Control (BBC). They do not agree to use the system. But during the preparation for the rematch, we will insist on its implementation. In addition, we reserve the right to make our own decision with the use of large screens." - said Suleiman.

Consequences of the first battle

The first match between Usyk and Fury caused a lot of controversy. A standing knockdown, which was scored by Fury, was a particularly discussed moment. This decision caused a storm of emotions among fans and experts, which only reinforced the need for changes in the rules.

Difficulties on the way to revenge

The preparation for the rematch is also accompanied by various problems. Tyson Fury recently disputed the result of the first fight, naming the reason for his defeat. In addition, the British got into a drunken scandal, which caused concern in his camp. At the same time, Oleksandr Usyk announced his radical plan to continue his career after the rematch.

Expert views and future forecast

Experts from all over the world are actively discussing the possible consequences of these changes. New Zealand heavyweight Joseph Parker dispelled the myth of Usyk's weakness, and Russian Oleg Taktarov called the results of the fights fabricated. Promoter Bob Arum also spoke about the Ukrainian's strength, noting that he does not consider him the strongest boxer in the world.

Unexpected twists and new challenges

With the rematch between Usyk and Fury, there was also a surprise twist after Croatia's Filip Hrgovic's loss to Great Britain's Daniel Dubois. The International Boxing Federation (IBF) made a new statement regarding Usyk's possible removal of the absolute world champion title.

It remains to be hoped that all changes and innovations will contribute to a fair and objective fight that will determine the strongest boxer in the world. Fans are looking forward to this fight, which promises to be one of the most exciting events in boxing this year.
