On Sunday in Thailand, the final tournament of the League of Nations in women's volleyball ended, which became a real triumph for the Italian national team. In the decisive match for the main trophy, the teams of Italy and Japan met.

From the very beginning of the meeting, the Italians took the initiative into their own hands. The first two games ended with the same score of 25:17 in favor of the European team. The Italian team showed excellent play on all lines, especially the diagonal Paola Egonu, who was later recognized as the best player of the match.

This is already the second victory of the Italian national team in the League of Nations. They won this title for the first time in 2022. The tournament was also won by volleyball players from the USA (2018, 2019, 2021) and Turkey (2023). After such success, Italy confirmed its status as one of the strongest teams in the world.
"We are very happy with this victory. It is the result of our hard work and team play," Paola told Egon after the match.
This victory can be a great incentive for Italian volleyball players before the upcoming competitions, including the Olympic Games. Japan has shown that it is capable of fighting at the highest level and is ready for new challenges.
