The final round of the Women's Volleyball Nations League group stage is underway and the intrigue is gathering pace. Volleyball players of Brazil, who at the start of the tour secured a place in the quarterfinals, now have new opponents. They were joined by five more national teams, including Poland, Italy and China.
Poland qualified for the quarterfinals
Today, Poland beat the team of the Dominican Republic with a score of 3:0 and secured the second place in the overall tournament table. This victory was decisive for the Polish volleyball players, who have been showing excellent form throughout the tournament.
Italy dominates South Korea
The Italians also left no chance to their rivals. In the match against South Korea, they won 3:0. The Italian team showed a great game and confidently moves to the next stage of the competition.
Brazil and China continue their winning streak
Brazil, who have already secured a place in the quarter-finals, once again showed their strength by beating Bulgaria 3-0. China also defeated Germany by the same score. Both teams are the favorites of the tournament and are ready to fight for the title.
Turkey and Japan are among the eight strongest
The national teams of Turkey and Japan are also guaranteed to remain in the top eight. Their performances in the group stage were consistent, allowing them to secure their places in the quarter-finals.
A dramatic match between Canada and the Netherlands
The match between the teams of Canada and the Netherlands, which claim to enter the playoffs, was very important. European volleyball players won in three games, which significantly increased their chances of continuing participation in the tournament.
Failure of the reigning world champion
Another failure of the Serbian team, which is the current world champion and silver medalist of last year's European Championship, was unpleasant news. It lost to France 1:3 and for the second year in a row could not reach the second stage of the tournament.
"We did our best, but luck was not on our side this time. We will work on our mistakes and come back even stronger," commented the coach of the Serbian national team.
Results and forecasts
Ahead of the final two game days of the group stage, the overall standings have taken on a new look. It is already known that the 8 best national teams, including Brazil, Poland, Italy, China, Turkey and Japan, will enter the quarter-finals. Even more intense matches await us, as the stakes rise and each team strives to win.
