Hryhoriy Drozd is confident in Oleksandr Usyk's victory in the rematch against Tyson Fury
Former world champion Hryhoriy Drozd expressed confidence that Ukrainian Oleksandr Usyk will win the rematch against British Tyson Fury on December 21. The Russian boxer emphasized that Usyk proved his high class and superiority over his opponent in the first match.
"Olexander Usyk has his own views. He proved to the whole world that he is the best super heavyweight today. It is not worth holding on to the belt if it contradicts his chosen direction. I think that the financial component is interesting for him, and the rematch with Tyson Fury can become even more successful financially, so I don't think the fight will be different. Even Tyson Fury couldn't impose anything on him, he had good moments. This is boxing, but I think that Usyk will win in the rematch as well," said Drozd.
Usyk's decision to give up the IBF belt
Drozd called Usyk's decision to give up the championship belt of the International Boxing Federation (IBF) rational, because the defense of this title is a much less profitable step than holding a rematch with Fury. Earlier it became known that the IBF did not leave a choice to Usyk, which led to the Ukrainian's refusal of the belt.
Dana White's outrage and the situation with Fury
This situation outraged the head of the Absolute Fighting Championship, Dana White. Recently, Tyson Fury appealed the result of the fight against Usyk, which took place on May 18. Before that, the British boxer for the first time named the reason for his defeat in the fight with Alexander.
Usyk's plans for the future
In addition, the British got into a drunken scandal, which alarmed his camp. In turn, Oleksandr Usyk announced his radical plan to continue his career after the rematch with Tyson. The Ukrainian also named the most difficult moment of the fight with the Briton and spoke frankly about his opponent.
War for the title
As reported, the British media announced that a real war is unfolding in world boxing over Oleksandr Usyk's title. This rematch promises to be one of the biggest events in the world of boxing, because the stakes are extremely high.
