Historic triumph of Spain
The women's national team of Spain wrote its name in history, winning the first title in its history at the World Cup. In the final match, which took place in the fall of 2023 at the stadiums of New Zealand and Australia, the Spanish defeated the English with a score of 1:0.

Increasing popularity of women's football
Every year, women's football is becoming more and more popular in the world. The matches of the 2023 World Cup confirmed this, because the stands of the stadiums were filled in almost all the games. This shows that interest in women's football is growing and cannot be ignored anymore.
Ukrainian perspectives
Unfortunately, the women's national team of Ukraine could not get to this world championship. However, a championship among women's clubs is actively developing in Ukraine, in which 12 teams participate, including such well-known clubs as Shakhtar Donetsk and Dynamo Kyiv. The Ukrainian national team also competes in the League of Nations, and the champions of Ukraine regularly play in the Champions League, although so far only in the qualifiers, because it is very difficult to break into the main draw of the tournament.
The first steps of women's football
The first unofficial women's soccer world championship took place in 1970 in Italy, where the Danish team won. The following year, the second such championship was held in Mexico, where the Danish national team triumphed again. These tournaments were not recognized by FIFA, but they were important steps in the history of women's football.
Challenges and successes
Women's football has always faced certain challenges. For example, in 1971, Derbyshire football referees refused to judge women's matches due to the difficulty of communicating with the players. But even such difficulties could not stop the development of this sport.
Football traditions in Ukraine
In Ukraine, women's football also has its own history. In 1971, the first tournament was held in Zakarpattia with the participation of 11 women's teams, and at a friendly meeting in Kharkiv, the stadium was filled to capacity. This shows that interest in women's football in Ukraine has existed since those times.
The future of Ukrainian women's football
Despite all the difficulties, Ukrainian women's football continues to develop. Our teams and players have great potential, and in time we will definitely see them on the world stage. It is important to support this development and create all conditions for achieving high results.
