Women's 3x3 basketball team of Ukraine continues to write its success story on the international arena. Yuriy Protsyuk's wards won a ticket to the European Championship for the second time in a row, which will be held this year from August 22 to 25 in Vienna. This will be the seventh participation of our team in the continental championship, which confirms their stable high level of play.
Confident start in qualification
At the qualification tournament in Bratislava, Ukrainian women demonstrated an unparalleled game. They won three of their three group stage matches, qualifying them automatically for the semi-finals. The opponent in the decisive match was the Slovak national team, which beat Turkey with a score of 16:14 in the quarterfinals.
Control the game from start to finish
Despite the fact that the Slovak women had the support of their native stands, this did not become an obstacle for the Ukrainian women. Our girls seized the initiative from the start of the match and confidently controlled the course of the game until the very end. The final score of 21:13 in favor of Ukraine was a clear confirmation of their superiority.
Key players and their contribution
Miriam Uro-Neely scored 7 points, including one long throw. Anzhelika Lyashko added 6 points, two of which were long range. Oksana Mollova also made a significant contribution, bringing the team 6 points. Khrystyna Filevych finished with 2 points, but her defensive actions and assists were just as important to the overall success.
Plans for the European Championship
Now that the ticket to the European Championship is in the pocket, Yuriy Protsyuk's team has time to prepare for the main tournament. This year will be special, because Ukrainian women have every chance not only to repeat, but also to surpass their previous achievements. It is also important to note that the national team of Ukraine already has the experience of successful performances in European arenas, which adds confidence in future matches.
A look into the future
Considering the successes in the qualification, we can safely say that the women's 3x3 basketball team of Ukraine has every chance of a high place at the European Championship. The support of the fans and the professionalism of the coaching staff create all the conditions for new victories.
"We are very satisfied with the result and grateful to our players for their dedication and professionalism. Now our task is to prepare for the European Championship and show the best game there," - noted head coach Yuriy Protsyuk.
We are waiting for new bright moments from our national team on the European arena! Forward, Ukraine!
