Hughes to Undergo Shoulder Surgery

New Jersey Devils' star player Jack Hughes' season has come to an abrupt end due to a shoulder injury requiring surgery. The announcement was made shortly before the Devils' game against the Maple Leafs. Hughes, the team's high-scorer with 27 goals and 47 assists, will be operated on by Dr. Peter Millett in Colorado.

"After discussions among Jack, his family, and our medical team, we concluded that Jack should sit out the remainder of the season," said the Devils.

Hughes suffered from upper body issues twice this season, missing games since his injury in January against the Blackhawks. Despite setting team records last season, the Devils are close to a playoff miss this year. However, Hughes is expected to fully recover for next year's training camp.
