Max Holloway, the Hawaiian featherweight sensation, is pushing hard to be part of the highly anticipated UFC 306 event at The Sphere in Las Vegas, Nevada. This venue is touted as the most advanced event arena in the world, making it a dream stage for any fighter. Holloway, eager to take advantage of this cutting-edge platform, is pushing the UFC to schedule his fight against Ilia Topuria for UFC 306, instead of the initially planned UFC 307 in October.

Holloway's Desire to Fight at The Sphere

"I hope to fight at The Sphere, man. I hope I get to fight at The Sphere," Holloway, 32, responded to a fan during a recent live session.

Topuria, the 27-year-old Spanish-Georgian fighter, shares Holloway's enthusiasm for a September showdown. However, the UFC's shifting plans, including the potential rescheduling of the Conor McGregor vs. Michael Chandler fight to UFC 306, have created uncertainty for both fighters.

The Crowded UFC 306 Card

The UFC 306 card is already buzzing with high-profile matchups. In addition to the speculated McGregor-Chandler bout, a fight between Sean O'Malley and Merab Dvalishvili has also been rumored. With such a loaded lineup, fitting in a Holloway vs. Topuria fight might seem challenging unless UFC President Dana White decides to expand the card dramatically.

Contractual Tensions and Weight Class Dilemma

Despite Holloway's public eagerness, Topuria claims that the Hawaiian has yet to sign a definitive contract for their bout. Topuria even suggested moving the fight to the lightweight division to avoid Holloway's weight cut struggles.

"Max, you won't have to cut to featherweight. I'll defend at 155 pounds, but please sign the contract," Topuria urged through his social media account.

Interestingly, Paddy Pimblett, who has had verbal spats with Topuria, accuses the Spaniard of delaying the fight agreement with Holloway. This war of words adds another layer of drama to an already complicated situation.

The Path Ahead: UFC 306 or UFC 307?

As the UFC continues to finalize the card for UFC 306, fans eagerly await confirmation of Holloway's next fight. Whether it will be on September 14 or pushed to October 5 for UFC 307 remains to be seen. One thing is certain: the clash between Holloway and Topuria promises to be a thrilling contest, regardless of the date.
