Dana White on P4P Ranking Leadership

UFC president Dana White recently gave an interview in which he explained in detail why Islam Makhachev cannot yet be considered the leader of the Pound-for-Pound (P4P) rating. According to White, Jon Jones remains the best fighter in history.

"What does Islam have to do to beat Jones? What is P4P? Makhachev beat the featherweight twice. And Jones easily became the champion by beating the heavyweight. This title means: we lock guys in a room and who comes out the winner? John Jones wins ", - noted White.

Comparison of the achievements of Makhachev and Jones

Islam Makhachev recently defended his lightweight title by finishing Dustin Poirier in the fifth round. However, according to Dana White, this is not enough to surpass Jones' achievements. Jones, who returned after a three-year hiatus, became the champion once again by defeating the heavyweight.

"He had a three-year layoff and came back and won easily. Jones is absolutely the best fighter ever. I hope he fights Stipe on November 10, knock on wood," White added.

Will Makhachev be able to reach the top?

For Islam Makhachev, this means that he needs to continue to prove his skill and defeat opponents not only in lightweight. He may have to move up a weight class to gain the same recognition as Jones.

"Mahachev beat the light heavyweight twice. And Jones easily became the champion, defeating the heavyweight," White emphasized.

Waiting for the fight between Jones and Stipe Miocic

One of the most anticipated events in the MMA world is Jones' upcoming fight with Stipe Miocic, which White says is set to take place on November 10. This fight could be another confirmation of Jones' dominance in the heavyweight division.

"I hope that on November 10, he will fight with Stipe, knock on wood," the UFC president expressed his hopes.

Results and forecasts

As Islam Makhachev continues his lightweight career, he is challenged to prove that he can compete on par with the best fighters in the world. On the other hand, Jon Jones continues to cement his status as the greatest fighter in history, and his upcoming bout with Stipe Miocic could be another step toward cementing that status.
