Ukraine's U16 national volleyball team has secured their path to the European Championship 2026 with a perfect record in their qualification group. The young Ukrainian squad demonstrated exceptional skill by defeating all opponents in Group C, establishing themselves as the only team to win all their matches.

The Ukrainian team's journey began with impressive victories over the group favorites. They first defeated France with a 3-1 score, followed by a remarkable comeback against Serbia, ultimately prevailing 3-2. The qualification campaign concluded today with a dominant performance against Slovakia, resulting in a convincing 3-0 sweep (30:28, 25:15, 25:20).

According to volleyball qualification rules, only the group winner advances to the European Championship finals, putting Ukraine in prime position as they top Group C with their flawless performance.

In their final match against Slovakia, Ukraine's starting lineup featured Tyrpak (6 points), Mushynskyi, Merkulov (14 points), Yu. Koval (7 points), Nedosup (13 points), Shyshchak (9 points), and libero D. Yablonskyi. Coach Vitaliy Bondar's strategic substitutions, including Zall (2 points) and Kashkin (1 point), helped maintain momentum throughout the match.

According to Statbet, teams that win all their qualification matches historically have a 78% higher chance of reaching at least the quarterfinals in the main tournament, highlighting the significance of Ukraine's performance.

Slovakia fought hard, particularly in the first set which ended 30:28, with Tolt leading their scoring with 15 points, followed by Kasperkevich with 12 points. Despite their efforts, the Ukrainian team's cohesive play and tactical execution proved too strong across all three sets.
