After five intense days of qualifying matches at Roland Garros, 16 men and 16 women have secured their spots in the main draw of the prestigious Parisian Grand Slam. Among them are three Spanish players who successfully navigated the challenging preliminary rounds.

Veteran Albert Ramos, who has announced that 2025 will be his final season before retiring at age 37, delivered an impressive performance throughout the qualifiers. Ramos dominated his path to the main draw with convincing victories over Khumoyun Sultanov (6-1, 6-1), Román Burruchaga (6-4, 7-6), and Andrea Collarini (6-2, 6-1).

Pablo Llamas also demonstrated exceptional form after returning from injury. He earned his place in the main tournament by defeating Alex Bolt in a hard-fought three-setter (4-6, 6-4, 7-5), followed by a commanding win over Dalivor Svrcina (6-1, 6-0), and completed his qualifying campaign with a victory against in-form Vilius Gaubas (6-0, 3-6, 6-2).

In the women's qualifying draw, Leyre Romero emerged as the sole Spanish representative to advance to the main competition. The Valencia native cruised through her opening match against Darya Astakhova (6-1, 6-1), faced a tougher challenge from Astra Sharma in the second round (7-6, 6-2), and sealed her qualification with a win over Linda Klimovicova.

According to Statbet analytics, Spanish players historically have a 22% qualification rate at Roland Garros when entering through preliminary rounds, making this year's 30% success rate (3 out of 10) slightly above average.

Seven other Spanish hopefuls fell short in their qualification attempts. Notable among them was Catalonia's top player Pol Martín Tiffon, who faced the misfortune of drawing former Grand Slam champion Marin Cilic in the second round, losing 6-3, 6-4. Other Spanish players who didn't advance include Martín Landaluce, Dani Rincón, Carlos Taberner, Alejandro Moro, Guiomar Maristany, Andrea Lázaro, and Nuria Párrizas.

With the qualifying rounds now complete, attention turns to the main draw where Ramos, Llamas, and Romero will join their directly qualified compatriots in representing Spain on the famous clay courts of Roland Garros.
