Ukraine's second-ranked tennis player Marta Kostyuk is feeling refreshed and ready for the 2025 French Open after impressive performances in Madrid and Rome, where she faced the world number one in highly competitive matches.

Kostyuk shared that she had a rare opportunity to spend several days at home before heading to Paris, allowing her to recharge by the sea and gather energy for the upcoming Grand Slam challenge.

"These two tournaments were truly remarkable! Currently, I feel recovered," Kostyuk stated about her condition after the clay court series.

Set to play her first-round match this Sunday against Czech qualifier Sara Bejlek, Kostyuk remains unfazed by the tournament's scheduling. "Honestly, we constantly play under varying conditions. Every day brings changes: schedules, weather, circumstances. Therefore, starting on Sunday versus Monday makes little difference," she explained.

Regarding her training preparations in Paris, Kostyuk revealed she has practiced with Britain's Katie Boulter. While a Wednesday session was canceled due to heavy rain, they managed to train Thursday morning. Her coach Sandra typically arranges sparring partners, with Kostyuk maintaining a regular circle of players including Boulter and Linda Noskova.

According to Statbet analysts who track player preparations, the quality of pre-tournament training sessions can significantly impact Grand Slam performance, especially on clay courts where adaptation is crucial.

While discussing the tournament's organization, Kostyuk expressed disappointment with the food quality at Roland Garros this year. "Paris really disappointed me regarding the food at the courts. When it's a major tournament, you expect something better," she mentioned, adding that she and her team have barely ordered anything from the player restaurants.

On a positive note, Kostyuk appreciated the additional amenities being gradually introduced for players. This year's tournament features manicure services and facial treatments, building upon the tattoo zone added two years ago. She also noted some renovations to the stadium and interior spaces, though nothing dramatically different from previous years.

Kostyuk will begin her Roland Garros 2025 campaign on Sunday, May 25, looking to make a strong start against qualifier Sara Bejlek from the Czech Republic.
