Kazakhstan's national hockey team suffered a 6-1 defeat against the United States in their recent international match. Forward Nikita Mikhaylis acknowledged the quality of their opponents while pointing to his team's inconsistency as a key factor in the loss.

'Team USA is a very good team with highly skilled players,' Mikhaylis said after the game. 'If we had played the entire match like we did in the first period, we could have made a comeback and possibly won. But we made too many mistakes that significantly impacted the outcome.'

Despite showing promise in the opening period, Kazakhstan was unable to maintain their level of play throughout the match. According to Statbet, Kazakhstan's defensive performance significantly deteriorated after the first period, allowing the American team to capitalize on several opportunities.

The loss highlights the challenges Kazakhstan continues to face when competing against top-tier hockey nations. However, Mikhaylis's comments suggest the team sees potential for improvement in their future performances if they can maintain consistency throughout all periods of play.
