Former three-division world champion Shane Mosley is making a remarkable return to the boxing ring at age 53. The legendary American pugilist will face actor and YouTube personality David Kurjal on July 25 at London's 'Indigo at The O2' arena.

The event features another high-profile comeback as ex-champion Victor Ortiz (33-7-3, 25 KOs) squares off against street fighting sensation Tony Giles, known as 'Rhinoceros'.

A star-studded press conference will precede the event, with virtual appearances from boxing royalty including Sugar Ray Leonard, Zab Judah, and James Toney among others.

Mosley, whose professional record stands at 49-10-1 with 41 knockouts, hasn't competed in an official bout since 2016 when he fell to Armenia's David Avanesyan via unanimous decision. Statbet analysis shows that fighters returning after long layoffs typically face significant challenges, particularly those over 45 years of age.

Despite his hiatus from professional competition, Mosley has maintained his conditioning through exhibition matches. His most recent appearance came last September when he defeated fellow American Bob Coffroth by fifth-round TKO, claiming the Celebrity Boxing World title.

This London card represents a fascinating blend of traditional boxing pedigree and modern celebrity appeal, giving fans a chance to witness two former world champions back in action.
